Food With A View
Taking its cue from the Surrealist art movement, the style of Circus is certainly one of its most memorable aspects, a refreshing and exciting design encompassing the entrance and foyer, main dining area, lounge, bar and WC’s.
As one would expect from Tom Dixon, much of the furniture in the space has been created specifically for Circus, these pieces are combined with design classics – from Dixon’s studio as well as other iconic 20th Century names. On the kitchen pass for example, Dixon has utilised the Artek ‘Golen Bell’ lightshade, the main dining table is surrounded by Dixon ‘tall chairs’, there is a Verner Panton ‘Shell’ chandelier and even a bespoke dancer’s pole in the lounge!

Not Your Mom's Reading Lamp
The Gun collection by Philippe Starck is an exemplary series of lamps consisting of table and floor models. The 'gun' is made of a die cast aluminum with injection-molded polymer overprint and a polished 18K gold-plated finish. Offered with a matte black diffuser with a silk-screened gold printing on the inside.
Starck Musings:
"To Life, To Death
First there were attempts at life, then the draft of life, then life itself. A civilisation was crafted so that life could live. The great, beautiful life, guaranteed to everyone, surged and survived until today, the 21st century. Bravo! Rest in peace.
After just a short period of enlightenment, the shadows return, fast, dense and menacing. Rewind, death is at the door.
Nowadays we kill - religiously, militarily, civilly. We kill out of ambition, out of greed, for the fun of it or of the show. Republics turn bananas. Tyrant are our masters, designed, manufactured, sold, dreamed, purchased and used, weapons are our new icons. Our lives are only worth a bullet.
The Guns Collection is nothing but a sign of the times. We get the symbols we deserve.
Happiness is a hot gun. Glory to our dictators
To Life, To Death"

Kids Got Talent
-Out Of A Forest(Tobias Gundorff Boesen)
Tobias Gundorff Boesen's Bachelor film. Set to the song "Slow Show" by The National.
It is shot in the forests surrounding Viborg, Denmark.
"My main inspiration was victorian litterature, and "Boxer" by the national. It was painful to finish, as shooting stop motion in the forest at night for longer periods turned out to offer alot of problems :) But it was also great fun and adventure."
Cool start to a promising career.
Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2010 Mid Top Sneakers
Dior Homme presents another new sneaker from the Kris Van Assche-designed SS’10 collection. While the silhouette is familiar, an off-kilter blend of lines and material switches adds a flavor that is uniquely Dior.
Embellishments are kept on the low, which is always appreciated. Pairs can be had at Paris’ colette.

Koolhaus
In the world of architect-cum-shoe designer Rem D. Koolhaas, a shoe is more than just a foot candy. Under the umbrella of United Nude, co-founder Koolhaas designs footwear with an attitude – often conveying an architectural or industrial design reference.
‘Wall of Light is a computer controlled low resolution Led-screen where each pixel is a product,’ says Koolhaas, who refers to the extreme store concept he designed as a machine. ‘I love grids.’ The high-impact concept (enhanced by a huge mirror on one side, optically doubling the size of the box-like cabinet) was taken from R&B and Hip Hop music videos. Although he seems convenient enough around high heels and killer boots, Koolhaas is expanding territory wth United Nude in the near future. ‘Cars, furniture, … we’ll show it when it’s ready.’ We can’t wait.
